Providence Health & Services Sterile Processing Technician Resident in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Sterile Processing Technician Resident (Full time 1.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to work at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
The Sterile Processing Technician Resident will successfully be admitted to and complete a formal Sterile Processing program. The SPD Tech Resident will be expected to complete and comply with all academic standards of the training program, pass the IAHCSSM certification exam [Provisional Certification or Full Certification] and demonstrate clinical skill competence in all areas of the Sterile Processing Department.
In this position you will:
Processes instruments and equipment for departments:
Collects, cleans, disinfects, inspects and sterilizes surgical instruments and other medical equipment.
Cleans and decontaminates used items by following established policies and procedures in the decontamination area for instruments, carts and equipment.
Inspects and assembles all instruments sets by following pick lists and checking to ensure the instruments are clean and functional.
Follows policies and procedures for steam and Sterrad sterilization techniques.
Maintains established departmental standards by following policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards:
Correctly performs steam and Sterrad sterilization techniques. Performs biological and chemical monitoring and maintaining a clean work area.
Performs other duties as assigned
Required qualifications for this position include:
- H.S. Diploma or GED
