Providence Health & Services Sterile Processing Supervisor in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Supervisor,Sterile Processing (1.0 FTE, Evening Shift) at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.
This position is M-F, with a mixture of 3pm-11am or 3pm-1am shifts.
The Supervisor, Sterile Processing (SP) provides supervision and problem solving to staff, and provides day to day management of processes, supplies, and quality improvement projects of Sterile Processing to ensure the highest quality of services is delivered. Supervises regular, on-call and float staff. In conjunction with the Clinical Manager, negotiate and manage supply resources in conjunction with PSPH Purchasing. Oversee information systems necessary for SP functioning in conjunction with Information Services. Evaluate and assure new technology. Supervisor will be active clinically as well as manage the processes.
In this position you will:
Staff scheduling and department coverage:
Department is staffed to manage workload
Collaborates effectively with staff to assure the provision of services.
Identifies and addresses clinical and operational issues that impact the provision of services.
Monitoring and changing Policies and Procedures:
Policy and Procedures are up to date and evidenced based on science and follow the AORN and AMII Standards
Employee evaluations completed in timely manner
Collaborates with the manager/director in employee performance evaluation
Oversees orientation of new staff, documents competency upon completion of orientation and maintains documentation of competencies, orientation etc
Maintains Professional growth and development
Staff oriented, competent and trained to do job assigned
Maintains a strong clinical knowledge base by attending seminars and educational offerings, reading journals, and networking with peers
Develops leadership and management skills in a planned approach
Oversight of sterilization process:
Biological processes performed per policy with documentation current and present at all times
Monitors and maintains standard of practice for decontamination and sterilization
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of a Central Supply Technician (or surgical technology) accredited course.
Five (5) years Sterile Processing experience in an acute hospital setting.
Two (2) Lead experience.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in staff training and education.
Sterile Processing Certification required upon hire.
CHL Certification, Certification in Healthcare Leadership.
