Senior Phlebotomist - Providence St Peter Hospital - Olympia, WA

$2,500 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

SCHEDULE: (1 FTE) Night; 10:00pm-6:30am PST. Will work every other weekend.

A Senior Phlebotomist is responsible for clinical laboratory duties, including:

All Sites: Reception and Telephone duties & proficient operation laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems; specimen handling: receiving and processing; prep & shipping of lab specimens for at Reference Laboratories; specimen/patient registration; phlebotomy - collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick; therapeutic blood collection; swab collection of specific Micro samples (per competency); assignment to OP Lab locations; training new staff as assigned.

Required qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training - Completion of an approved phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training program meeting requirements to become licensed as a MA-P or MA-C in Washington State.

  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification

  • 2 years Experience in a clinical lab setting,

  • Experience 7 of the basic skills described in the essential functions of the job description,
