Providence Health & Services RN Residency Program - Surgical Admit Discharge Unit (July 2020 Cohort) in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Resident to the Surgical Admit Discharge Unit at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
Our Residency Program transitions new graduate nurses into practice emphasizing inter-professional, collaborative and patient-centered care. Our comprehensive specialty curriculum includes online and classroom based learning, clinical simulation, skills development and unit orientation with specialty trained preceptors. The Residency Program is designed to support our residents professional development through their first year of practice.
Surgical Services Perianesthesia Residency
This Surgical Residency encompasses the Surgical Admit Discharge Unit (SADU), West Surgery and Endoscopy.
The SADU prepares patients for their surgery and discharges the patients after their surgery either to home or to the floor. A portion of this unit includes observation beds which means we take more complex patients that need to be held under observation for no more than 24 hours. All surgeries and most procedures go through the SADU.
West Surgery is a fast paced predominately outpatient surgery center and our cases reflect that, meaning they are less complex than surgeries at the main.
The Endoscopy Unit performs Endoscopies, Colonoscopies, Bronchoscopies and ERCPs meeting the needs of the Gastroenterology specialists.
This Residency is a gateway into many possible growth opportunities. It will give the resident experience in telemetry, cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery, endoscopy, gynecology, neurology and pediatrics.
This is a 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week), variable shift position.
This Residency Cohort is scheduled to start on July 20, 2020.
