Providence Resource Scheduler - Interventional Radiology in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Resource Scheduler - Interventional Radiology (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
The scope of this position comprises a variety of tasks necessary to promote smooth operation of the IR (Interventional Radiology) department that includes the IR Clinic and associated modalities (diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, and Ultrasound). This position supports clinical, clerical and business office functions, including a variety of clerical duties involved in scheduling patients and processing information that assists in patient care. Duties focus on customer service and involve responding to inquiries, answering multi-line phones, scheduling IR/radiology appointments, maintaining documents, files, arranging meetings and reminder calls for next day schedules.
In this position you will:
Assure that tests, procedures, exams, etc., are scheduled in correct sequences and in coordination with physicians and staff availability, time requirements, and other scheduling considerations
Screens orders for surgical, laboratory and diagnostic imaging procedures. Coordinate films, clinical information, H&P, and other records to assure that requests have accurate diagnosis, clinical indication and/or other information
Verifies or cancels appointments, exams and procedures as necessary. Notifies patients/physicians and Tech Coordinator of schedules and changes. Demonstrates knowledge of medical charts, filing systems and ability to file and retrieve a variety of documents
Communicates with outside radiology departments, labs and physician offices to obtain appropriate records and information as necessary. Effectively utilizes basic computer skills to operate PC, trouble shooting and use of software and office equipment. Proficient in Epic Radiant, Optime and Cadence
Provides appropriate information to patients and physicians. Explains steps, requirements and procedures to customers. Facilitates communications and refers complex questions to appropriate staff, if needed. Transports patients if needed
Required qualifications for this position include:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
Two (2) years Health information management and/or clinical experience
One (1) year Office clerical experience
High School Diploma or GED
Associate's Degree or equivalent educ/experience
Experience in Epic information systems, Picture Archival and retrieval systems (PACS) and interventional radiographic procedures
