Providence Physical Therapist Assistant in Olympia, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Physical Therapy Assistant (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.

We are seeking a physical therapy assistant who will be responsible for the physical therapy treatment to patients and assisting the physical therapist. The position is also responsible for communication with patients, physicians, nurses and other personnel regarding patient care, for operating physical therapy equipment, and performing assistance in projects and duties within the departments as directed by the Physical Therapist.

In this position you will:

  • As directed by the Physical Therapist, provides Physical Therapy Treatment to patients and operates Physical equipment as related according with age considerations as appropriate: Neonate; Pediatric; Adolescent; Adult; Older Adult

  • Communicate verbally and written with therapist, co-workers, families, patients, nursing personnel and physicians regarding patient response to treatment.

  • Keeps therapist informed of patient response to treatment in order to adjust, plan, and update goals, reassess or discharge.

  • Complies with Practice Act pertaining to PTA patient cares, and need for Physical Therapy reassessment

  • Document patient progress toward goal.

  • Communicates patient response to treatment to physicians, and other care givers

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an APTA approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program, usually an associate’s of science degree

  • WA State DOH Physical Therapist Assistant License

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree
