Providence Health & Services Patient Services Representative - Centralized Patient Access in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Patient Services Representative (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to the Centralized Patient Access at Providence Medical Group Southwest Washington in Olympia, WA.
This position works under the direction and supervision of the Clinic Supervisor, Practice Manager or appropriate staff to support in the delivery of cost-effective, clinically competent, reliable healthcare in a safe, respectful manner that ensures patient respect and dignity. Provide effective and efficient front office services to patients; coordinate internal and external clinic phone communications among staff, patients, and providers; accurately collect records and ensure distribution to appropriate staff via computer and/or manual systems; perform clerical, scheduling, and records activities in support of patients and staff. Participates as a fully engaged member of the care team, by demonstrated commitment to service and compassion for the patients of Providence and their families.
In this position you will:
Greet, check-in, verify patient’s information and collect in a friendly and courteous manner in person and on the phone; direct flow of patients and calls.
Collect and verify accurate and complete demographic information from patient or family member.Accurately enter all data into the information system and update established patient files as necessary.
Process clerical records and information for clinic patients including patient charts and refer to billing when appropriate.
Handles patient payments of cash, checks, and credit cards according to policy. Posts payments to computer, balances and closes payment batches.
Ensure required authorizations are present on all patient documents.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- One (1) year of customer service experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two (2) years of community college/business school training
Additional course work in business or health care related subjects
One (1) year of experience working in a medical setting
Physician group practice
Experience with electronic medical records
