Providence Health & Services Music Thanatologist - Spiritual Care Chaplains in Olympia, Washington
Providenceis calling for 0.8 FTE (i.e., 32 hours weekly) music-thanatology rolesupporting Providence St. Peter Hospital, Centralia Hospital, and Hospice.
We are looking for a Music Thanatologist to minister in partnership with Chaplains and other team members to assist in providing for the needs of the terminally ill and their families.
In this position you will:
Provide prescriptive music vigils with harp and voice, to address the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs to palliative care and dying patients throughout the continuum of care
Provide education about music-thanatology to staff and community
Perform duties in a manner consistent within the Spiritual Care Department and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and philosophy
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Certification by MTAI (Music-Thanatology Association International) required within two years of hire, which includes proficiency in harp, voice and the prescriptive process.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Successfulcompletion of a music-thanatology training program, i.e., Chalice of Repose orLane Community College.
