Providence is calling Medical Technologist II (0.5 FTE/20 hours per week, Variable Shift) to work in Clinical Laboratory Services at Providence St. Peter Hospital at Olympia, Washington.

The Medical Technologist II is responsible for professional Medical Technologist II bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s). The position performs routine and complex tests or analyses in any of these potential sections (as assigned): Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Immunohematology, LIS and Lean. The position has responsibility for planning, performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations.
In this position you will:
Perform and evaluate laboratory testing and analysis.
Evaluate and respond appropriately to any sample integrity issues.
Monitorsinstrument performance.
Perform analysis in a timely manner, per the priority of the order.
Assess results properly, based on gender/age of patient.
Report results interpretations to clients, following SOP’s for test result documentation.
Maintain currency with all competency and assigned SOP review for the section(s) assigned.
Is able to assist in daily result reviews as requested by laboratory management, in the section(s) assigned.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in related life science
Successful completion of an accredited School of Medical Technology
One (1) year experience in a clinical lab setting
Proficiency in at least three (3) of the listed sections in Position Summary
MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(ASCP/NCA), or HEW/HHS
