Providence Health & Services Medical Technologist - Clinical Laboratory Services in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Medical Technologist (0.8 FTE, Evenings) to St Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
We are seeking a medical technologist to perform the essential laboratory testing that is critical to the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.
In this position you will:
Perform routine and complex tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunohematology
Be responsible for planning, performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis
Lead and direct day to day work of technicians and other personnel
Establish and/or maintain communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations
Respond to phone requests or picks up the requisitions and specimens within the time limit set by the laboratory
Perform phlebotomy duties on inpatient, outpatient and emergency department patients
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science program OR Associate's of Arts degree in related health science.
ASCP licensed or equivalent as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist (if eligible to sit for exam, must be completed within six months of hire).
Working knowledge of computer application software and LIS (Laboratory Information System).
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
