Providence Health & Services Crisis Services Technician in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Crisis Services Technician (0.9 FTE, Variable Shift) to the Psychiatric Emergency Department at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
We are seeking a Crisis Service Technician (CST) who in coordination with the Crisis Services Counselor, provides crisis management, information, follow-up referrals, and discharge planning to patients and families who present in the Emergency Center with a wide variety of psychiatric, chemical addiction and psycho-social problems.
In this position you will:
Provides clerical and phone support to the Crisis Service Counselor
Performs general patient care duties
Prepares patient for exams, procedures and interviews
Take/record patient’s vital signs, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration measures
Obtain urine samples
Assists with the treatment of patients who are a danger to self or others, violent, or who are detained under RCW 71-05 and similar statutes
Provides competent care appropriate to the patient population
Provides sensitivity with cultural and religious beliefs
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services or Psychosocial/Mental Health field
Must have a Mental Health Counselor License or will procure an Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration within six (6) months of hire.
AHA BLS upon hire
One (1) year Experience in the area of crisis evaluation and intervention in an acute psychiatric setting with an emphasis on quick assessment skills
Preferred qualification s for this position include:
Washington State Certification as a Nursing Assistant Certified
One (1) year Psychiatry and/or chemical dependency experience in a health care setting
