Providence Health & Services Court Liaison/Behavioral Health Educator - Psychiatric Unit in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Court Liaison/Behavioral Health Educator(Full time, Day Shift) at the Psychiatric Unit of Providence St Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
As the Court Liaison, under the supervision of the Medical Director and Inpatient Manager, will assist the Psychiatrist to determine the individuals who will be attending court and conduct chart review of those patients. As an educator, under supervision of the Behavioral Health Services Director, use available resources and approaches based on hospital protocols, policies and procedures, provide staff continuing education, orientation, and individual staff development.
In this position you will:
Notify patient of court date and location and obtain from them the appropriate paperwork one day prior to court
Prepare and provide all necessary paperwork including but not limited to chapters 71.05 and 71.34 RCW
Provide reports of client history, circumstances of admission and course of treatment
Provide legal documents pertaining to the involuntary detention of persons at the hospital as required by the Thurston County Superior Court
Ensure the completion of filing of all ITA related court orders or accompanied documents including but not limited to LRAs and involuntary detention orders
Set goals and objectives for self and the department and implements action plans to meet these goals
Required qualifications for this position include:
Candidates must qualify as a Mental Health Professional in Washington State. (At least 2 years of recent supervised Psychiatric Inpatient Experience)
Minimum of 2 years of Inpatient Psychiatric Nursing Experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Minimum 1 year teaching experience
Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
Experience with and understanding of ITA Court Hearings in Washington State and related RCWs
