Providence Health & Services Clinical RN - Palliative Care in Olympia, Washington

Providence is calling a Clinical RN - Palliative Care at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA. This is a day shift (0.9 FTE/ 36 hours per week) opportunity.

The Clinical RN for Palliative Care provides direct clinical support and education for Palliative Care Services in the Inpatient setting. Collaborates with Nurse Navigators, Spiritual Care, Case managers, and Inpatient and Outpatient care providers in the provision of quality Palliative Care. The Palliative Care Nurse facilitates palliative intervention/ end-of-life discussion and care, assists Providers of Palliative Care Services, and responds to referrals/consults.

In this position you will:

  • Provide direct clinical support and education for Palliative Care Services in the Inpatient setting.

  • Collaborate with Nurse Navigators, Spiritual Care, Case managers, and Inpatient and Outpatient care providers in the provision of quality Palliative Care.

  • Facilitate palliative intervention/ end-of-life discussion and care, assist Providers of Palliative Care Services, and respond to referrals/consults.

  • Identify and triage patients that may benefit from palliative care. Educates and mentors nurses, clinicians, and non-clinicians in evidence-based palliative care.

  • Work collaboratively with Inpatient social workers in discharge planning.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

  • Washington State Licensure as a Registered Nurse

  • Three (3) years clinical experience in a hospital acute care setting with a background in medical, oncology, or hospice nursing.

  • The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Core Training and/or Hospice Education Network core curriculum training or ability to complete training within six (6) months of hire.

  • Actively work to complete Hospice of Palliative Care Nursing Certification within two (2) years of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Masters in nursing or similar field

  • Experience in palliative care
