Providence Health & Services Behavioral Health Specialist in Olympia, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Behavioral Health Specialist (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to Providence Medical Group in Olympia, WA.

Providence is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist who will be responsible for working within a healthcare team in providing direct patient care for patients with chronic mental illness and/or socioeconomic challenges. This individual works within the Patient Centered Medical Home Model in coordination with multiple PCPs and serves as a link to an identified population of patients

In this position you will:

  • Provides clinical assessment with knowledge of biological, psychological, and social-environmental assessment strategies relevant to individuals and systems:

  • Conduct mental status examination.

  • Conduct crisis assessment

  • Demonstrates ability to formulate and implement evidence based behavior health interventions, with both individuals and groups, that are appropriate to the primary care setting.

  • Complies with Washington State Law and other regulatory groups regarding patient care. Demonstrate knowledge of law with regard to:

  • Informed consent.

  • Confidentiality.

  • Patient rights.

  • Less restrictive alternatives.

  • Involuntary treatment act.

  • Participates in regulatory surveys

  • Reports and documents patient activities and progress in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's in Social Work or other Mental Health counseling field.

  • Current non-restricted Washington licensure as a licensed Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor or Marriage and Family Therapist or Clinical Psychologist. Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical behavioral healthcare experience.

  • Advanced clinical experience in Behavioral Health including evaluation, diagnosis and intervention for psychiatric and substance use disorders.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Doctorate in Psychology (Psychologist)

  • Experience with Child & Adolescent Mental Health

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
