Providence Health & Services Radiation Therapist - Radiant Care Lacey in Lacey, Washington


Providence is calling a Radiation Therapist I (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week Days) to work in the Radiant Care Lacey at Providence Centralia Hospital in Lacey, WA

The Radiation Therapist will perform a variety of duties associated with patient treatments. They will be responsible for Quality Improvement procedures and machine warm-up under the supervision of the Medical Physicist.

In this position you will:

  • Must be well versed in the use of computers

  • Be responsible for performing daily radiation treatments under the supervision of the Radiation oncologist

  • Be responsible for reviewing and accuracy checking of the electronic and paper chart

  • Verify proper set-up of the radiation treatment field using simulation instructions

  • Take log and review portal images of patient treatment fields

  • Review treatment chart (electronic and paper) daily for any changes or modifications

  • Accurately chart mu setting, tumor doses and set-up changes daily

  • Be responsible to perform simple dose calculation

  • Be responsible to perform clinical set-up under the supervision of the Radiation Oncologist

  • Be responsible for assisting in the scheduling of simulations, electron traces and field modifications for the patients under treatment

  • Stock treatment rooms with supplies

  • Maintain the daily treatment schedule and patient flows

  • Assist and troubleshoot issues pertaining to the record and verify system

  • Treat all patients with care and dignity

  • Good communication skills with patients and other members of the organization

  • Fabricate custom blocking devices

  • Be responsible for participation in the Quality Improvement program

  • May be responsible for assisting and/ or providing simulation services on the CT sim

  • Be accountable for the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of all assigned functions and tasks


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • RTT License or board eligible

  • WA State License
