Providence Office Assistant III - Chemical Dependency in Lacey, Washington
Providence is calling an Office Assistant III (0.8 FTE, Variable Shift) to the Chemical Dependency at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Lacey, WA.
Office Assistants perform a variety of clerical duties in support of patient care and department operations. Duties focus on clerical processes and customer service, and involve patient scheduling, maintaining documents, files, and data base records; typing correspondence and other material; coordinating internal and external phone communications; extracting and compiling data; and other clerical functions.
In this position you will:
Utilize basic knowledge of the organizational structure, hospital departments and department operations with ability to perform a variety of duties in support of patient care and department operations
Demonstrates ability to work with patients, family members and staff of various age groups
Greet, check-in, verify patient’s information in a friendly and courteous manner in person and on the phone; direct flow of patients and calls
Handle patient payments according to policy
Maintains knowledge of the department’s computer systems, electronic medical record, and others as necessary to the position
Assists with projects as needed by compiling information, preparing information packets, performing word processing, researching, filing, etc
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Two (2) years clerical experience preferably in a healthcare setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience in a regulated environment
