Providence is calling a Registrar (0.8 FTE, 32 hours per week Day Shift) to work in the Patient Registration at Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.

The Registrar will be responsible for collection of demographic information to ensure accuracy for billing purposes. Provide general support to patients, families, and visitors. Assist all departments with any patient access needs.

Routinely reviews department policies for process accuracy
Communicate with Supervisor/Manager on pertinent issues
Work cohesively with all departments
Maintain a clean, stocked department
Answer telephones promptly
Process ambulance demographic requests
Process room scheduling requests
Complete COA Audit weekly
Follow paging guidelines
Reception desk Responsibilities:
Perform quick registration all emergency room patients
Notify Emergency room of patient arrivals
Direct/track all patients
Assist with patient check in as needed
Complete QA reports daily
Maintain radio communication with security
Monitor alarm panels for alerts
Complete all registrations timely
Verify patient demographics & insurance
Scan all required documents, i.e. picture ID, insurance cards, HIPAA
Uses electronic tools as needed
Compiles hospital call schedule daily
Complete QA reports daily
Provide relief for breaks
Obtain demographics from physician offices for accuracy
Document missing information for later collection
Print/deliver required forms for accounts
Hospital /Unit safety & security:
Able to state evacuation routes in case of fire
Able to state fire plan & location of fire information
Attend annual safety education & training
Identify potential unsafe situations in patient/office environment, providing appropriate interventions to rectify situation
Address safety needs as part of the Patient Access department communicating as appropriate with all members of the health care team
Maintain confidentiality of business and/or patient information
Comply with OSHA guidelines & procedures
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Two (2) years of experience recent customer service
One (1) year of clerical experience
