Providence Hospital Educator - Human Resources in Centralia, Washington
Providence is calling a Hospital Educator (1.0 FTE,Day Shift) to work in Human Resources Department at Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.
The Clinical Educator performs functions that support the hospital and medical staff to continually improve patient care, reduce risk and provide excellent customer service. Clinical Educators provide clinical and didactic education to the nursing and ancillary staff and are involved in various levels of nursing education, consultation, research, and practice.
In this position you will:
Leads, develops, coordinates or supports quality improvement systems contributing to care effectiveness, customer service, financial stewardship, risk reduction and compliance with JCAHO and regulatory requirements:
Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply quality improvement theory, principles, tool and methods including quality planning and redesign.
Strong leadership, coordination, and consultant skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple activities simultaneously
Leads, develops and coordinates Patient Care Services Orientation for clinical staff:
Develops, coordinates and teaches a knowledge-based orientation for new clinical staff.
Evaluates and monitors clinical staff’s progress and skill level in orientation.
Determines readiness of new staff to progress from orientation to working in their departments
Serves as a facilitator or team leader, or supports performance improvement teams and projects:
Demonstrates skills and abilities as facilitator and team leader and has understanding of team dynamics.
Effectively utilizes performance-consulting skills
Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams within the Education Council and throughout the facility for care effectiveness and continuum of care issues
Ability to motivate, negotiate and delegate appropriately. Willingness to accept and deal with resistance to change, confrontation
Strong collaboration and team skills, including the ability to work well with physicians, all disciplines and staff levels
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Master's Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field.
Licensure in Washington as a Registered Nurse.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHS BLS) certification.
Three (3) years recent experience in an acute care setting, which provided an in-depth knowledge of: • acute care clinical issues and patient care practices, • quality improvement theories and methods, • adult learning principles, and • data analysis methods.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- One (1) year experience in nursing education.
