Electronic Imaging Assistants perform a variety of clerical duties in support of diagnostic imaging operations. Duties focus on clerical processes and customer service and involve reception, patient transport, responding to inquires, filing, retrieving films and records, data entry and tasks utilizing digital and Picture and Archive Communication Systems (PACS) technology with the ultimate goal of accurate and efficient utilization of electronic/manual image and data storage, reporting and distribution methodologies.
In this position you will:
Perform reception and telephone duties using the department’s telephone standards. Facilitates communications and refers complex calls to appropriate staff
Check lists and computer information, pull, and sort films for surgery, rounds and other physicians or patients
Prepare patient records for procedures – checking PACS for retrieved images
Demonstrate understanding of required supplies and stock needed to perform job function and how to order them
Assists the radiologist, other physicians and staff in the execution of their duties by acting as a resource person for timely, effective use of services, both in electronic and manual modalities
High Diploma or GED
Six (6) months Healthcare radiology experience, or one year of office clerical experience or post secondary education
AHA BLS (American Heart Association)
- PACS or RIS experience
